The Unity Fresno Festival & Concert (UFFC) is an intergenerational celebration of Black history and excellence in and through choral music to kickoff Black History Month in Fresno County. The UFFC will bring together choristers of all ages, races, genders, and abilities from across Fresno County through the joy of music. The UFFC is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Fresno Community Chorus, Inc. (Dr. Anna Hamre, Director), the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (Dr. Michele Cantwell-Copher), and the Fresno Unified School District (Dr. Robert Nelson, Superintendent).

FULL FESTIVAL & CONCERT DETAILS


Festival Structure:

  • Each 90-minute session will feature 4 choirs.

  • Sessions will begin with a group warm-up led by the Guest Conductor followed by the performances, on-stage clinics, and concluding with a rehearsal of the mass choir selection led by the Guest Conductor.

  • Choirs will be given 15 minutes on stage which includes the clinic with Dr. Dilworth. Choirs may perform no more than two songs to allow time for your clinic.

  • Written and recorded comments will be provided by additional adjudicators, including Dr. Anna Hamre (Professor Emerita and former Director of Choral Activities at Fresno State) and other esteemed local choral conductors.
